    Job Title: Leasing Specialist

    Department: US Department of Agriculture

    Agency: US Forest Service

    Sub Agency: Office of Acquisition Management

    Salary Range: $33,979 – $42,209

    Series & Grade: GS-1170-07/09/11/12

    Promotional Potential: GS-12

    Duty Locations: Four (4) positions total. Located in Missoula, MT; Golden, CO; Ogden, UT; Clovis, CA

    Eligability Requirements: Applicants must have successfully attained “superior academic achievement” as defined by the Office of Personnel Management after a full four-year course of study OR have completed at least one year of graduate-level education OR have at least 1 year work experience at GS-5 or above.

    Who May Be Considered: U.S. Citizens. No prior government experience required.

    Job Summary:

    These positions are part of the national Acquisition Management (AQM) Trainee Program, which provides participatns with formal and on-the-job training, mentoring, shadowing, and other caree development opportunities over a four year period to prepare them to assume full-performance Contract Specialist positions within AQM. The goal of the AQM Trainee Program is develop talented entry-level personnel into specialists and leaders to address the future staffing needs of the AQM workforce.

    Leasing Specialists are business advisors for the agency, assisting the mission by performing all aspects of leasing including pre-award, award, and post-award administration. They assist agency customers in defining requirements, develop strategies for meeting them, perform tasks to issue leases, and monitor them to ensure the agency recieves what it is paying for.

    Important Notes:

    Moving costs/transfer of station is not available. All hiring will be done at the GS-7 level.
