Public Service Video Challenge for District of Columbia High School
The U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM) is interested in the unique perspective of high school students in the nation’s capital. Accordingly we are challenging District of Columbia Public Schools (DCPS) to create a 30-90 second video that will raise awareness and spread the word about the importance of public service.
In your own words and images, how would you persuade someone to pursue a career in public service?
Winning videos will be showcased at Public Service Recognition Week (PSRW), an event that honors the men and women who serve America as local, state and federal government employees the on the national mall and will receive special recognition from OPM Director John Berry.

OPM is truly becoming an innovator! Too bad they aren’t using YouTube instead of having students burn CDs. If they used YouTube, we could all see these innovative videos – sort of like HHS did with the H1N1 video contest.
I hope that Federal employees take the time to visit the exhibits during Public Service Recognition Week. This week is not just for the tourists. We all should be proud to be part of public service.
