Hello folks! I am a current DoD employee who is resigning after having served for less than one year. I am in the midst of filling out my SF-52 and I must give a reason for my departure. What is the standard protocol for this “reason”? What are they looking for?
Can I write something generic like “left for personal reasons” or do they want more detail? I don’t want to put anything that would jeopardize my chances of returning to federal service in the future.

If someone can enlighten me I would really appreciate it! Thank you so much.
