Naval Consolidated Brig Miramar (NAVCONBRIG Miramar) is located on board Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, San Diego, CA. Built in 1989, it is a modern, state-of-the-art, military correctional facility which houses up to 400 minimum and medium custody inmates.
Job series and grade level: Federal Government Civil Service Position. National Security Personnel System, YA-0180-02. Base Salary Range: $40,093 – 91,801 (plus 23.44% local market supplement).
Requirements: Doctoral degree Clinical or Counseling Psychology (or an acceptable equivalent) from an accredited university or professional school and a one-year clinical internship. Current state license as a psychologist is required. Experience in correctional treatment, women offender treatment, sexual offender treatment, and/or substance abuse treatment is preferred.
Duties: Work with multi-disciplinary team of civilian and military psychologists, social workers, substance abuse counselors, and mental health technicians. Conduct mental health and forensic evaluations, risk assessments, group therapy, and individual therapy to military prisoners. Develop treatment plans, participate in case conferences, conduct program evaluations, participate in program management, and provide parole recommendations. Work in the women offender treatment program and other specialty programs. This is a great opportunity to receive specialized training and to work with a highly motivated clinical team.
