    Job Description:

    The SharePoint Architect serves as the primary individual for analysis, design, development, deployment, and overall project management for SharePoint (MOSS). This position requires expert knowledge of Microsoft such as: SQL Server 200x, Internet Information Server, Active Directory, and Microsoft Office desktop application integration with SharePoint. A demonstrated ability to manage a large scale deployment of SharePoint and integrate other technologies is necessary. The SharePoint Architect analyzes the Institution’s information architecture, understands institutional and departmental requirements, to design and develop organizational taxonomies, policies, procedures, and solutions. The candidate works closely with developers to provide custom solutions as necessary. This individual must be highly motivated in this area of computing in order to stay current with present trends and activities. The incumbent will function well as a leader and team member for assigned projects. Strong .Net development skills(C#) and demonstrated web part/customization experience is a must.

    Required Skills:

    • MCTS certifications in Microsoft Office SharePoint Services (MOSS) configuration and/or development preferred.
    • 5 years related Information Technology experience required that includes deployment and development with Microsoft Office SharePoint Services (MOSS)
    • Understand each customer’s development and production requirements and goals
    • Understand, assess, and propose solutions for resolving customer questions and issues
    • Design and implement solutions with java-based applications
    • Experience in Web server configuration and architecture
    • Specific experience with SharePoint 2007 platform required
    • Building Intranet portals and collaboration solutions using MS SharePoint
    • Converting existing content, sites, and services into SharePoint 2007
    • Building features, Web parts, etc. for SharePoint
    • Integrating the portal with other corporate data sources, applications, and knowledge management systems Implementation and integration of SharePoint Reporting Functions and Document Management
    • Collaborates with team members; sharing development responsibility and work with members of diverse technical and business teams
    • Technically proficient with superior .NET and SharePoint development experience
    • Strong Web development skills (HTML, DHTML, CSS, etc.)
    • Some level of expertise in following technology areas: SOAP, XML and SQL
    • Expert level knowledge in the administration, configuration, and customization of SharePoint Portal Server 2007
    and Windows SharePoint Services
    • SharePoint Portal Server and Windows SharePoint Services implementation and deployment experience including the creation of custom Web parts
    • Experience in the implementation of SharePoint Collaboration tools (forums/issues, lists, etc.) and ability to seamlessly integrate with other Microsoft tools
    • Experience with customization of templates and development of new templates
    • Ability to architect a technical solution including detailed written/visual documentation with strong analytical and problem solving skills
    • Excellent consulting skills and the ability to work effectively with end users and team members
    • Self motivated with the ability to set and meet deadlines on multiple projects without frequent supervision
    • Develop extensions and custom components for SHAREPOINT / MOSS
    • Integrate SHAREPOINT with Microsoft Office System
    • Integrate SHAREPOINT with Microsoft Active Directory
    • Integrate SHAREPOINT with other tools and applications
    • Develop collaboration, workflow, and InfoPath forms in SharePoint
    • Work on team to install, configure and deploy SHAREPOINT
    • Develop a web-enabled environment to organize, display and share information documents and knowledge.
    • Manage web-based collaboration sites
    • Manage portal sites that provide enterprise-level web solutions to internal and external organizations
    • Research, coordinate, and recommend options for portal site design and implementation

    Preferred Knowledge and Skills:

    • Highly motivated and self-directed with the ability to set priorities and meet deadlines
    • Excellent communication and writing skills
    • MOSS 2007 architecture and content management concepts.
    • Relevant hands-on work experience with prior versions of SharePoint portal
    • Experience with third party Workflow, Content Management, and Business Intelligence tools
    • Experience in web design and enterprise portal management
    • Experience in a .net environment
    • Maintaining web content
    • Experience in HTML, JavaScript, Cascading Style Sheets, CSS, and ASP
    • Experience w/SQL Server
