With hundreds of thousands of furloughed feds, one would think a smart temp agency would look to tap that vast pool of expertise. It would provide fed workers income to offset their ~20% loss for the remaining of FY13. Working at a few companies on a temporary basis would broaden their experience and could identify new opportunities to explore. While many companies in the Washington DC area (and across the nation) are worried about their own hiring freezes and layoffs due to reduced government contract work, there are still high demand career fields that could benefit from these professionals.
Are there any restrictions for furloughed workers from getting a second job on their days off? Are there any major temp agencies marketing to furloughed fed workers?
