    The CFPB is currently recruiting for a Senior Consumer Financial Protection Analyst. The incumbent will apply comprehensive knowledge of financial consumer protection issues to, among other things, develop examination policies, procedures, and training programs; analyze industry trends; monitor/oversee the CFPB supervisory process; and provide technical advice and assistance to Washington and Regional staff.

    The salary ranges up to $187,000 per year, with comprehensive benefits and participation in the Federal Reserve Retirement Plan.

    Senior Consumer Financial Protection Analyst

    Organizational Location:
    Consumer Financial Protection Bureau
    Division of Supervision, Fair Lending and Enforcement, Office of Large Bank Supervision.
    Washington, DC

    Major Duties:

    As a Senior Consumer Financial Protection Analyst, the incumbent assists CFPB management in a variety of the most complex activities and functions necessary to carry out the agency’s supervision responsibilities. The incumbent applies comprehensive knowledge of financial consumer protection issues to, among other things, develop examination policies, procedures, and training programs; analyze industry trends; monitor/oversee the CFPB supervisory process; and provide technical advice and assistance to Washington and Regional staff.

    Other duties include, but are not limited to:

    • Leads the development and implementation of procedures for conducting risk-based consumer protection examinations, including risk assessment, examination scoping, and setting examination priorities. May participate onsite on the most complex reviews and examinations.
    • Leads projects related to financial consumer protection issues that require considerable data and information gathering. Contributes to responses and reports to Congress on consumer supervisory or regulatory matters, assists in the preparation of testimony, and responses to other inquires and advises senior management in areas of expertise.
    • Leads quality assurance assessments of the CFPB examination program to analyze whether it is operating in an efficient and effective matter in accordance with the established policies, procedures, and regulations.
