Salary Range: $6,947 – $10,420 Monthly
Brief Duties & Responsibilities:
Under the direction of the Assistant City Manager, ensures the operation of the IT Division is streamlined and aligned with the business objectives of the City; strategizes, plans, coordinates, directs and designs the information technology-related activities of the City Government; benchmarks, analyzes, reports, and recommends improvements and growth for the IT infrastructure and systems, as well as provides administrative direction and support for daily operational activities of the division. Furthermore, this individual will lead a city-wide IT Governance Committee (1) to assist the Executive Leadership Team in strategic management decisions involving information technologies, (2) set directions and priorities for IT in a timely manner, and (3) develop policies and procedures that will be implemented by the IT Division.
In addition, defines and implements IT policies and procedures in accordance with industry best practices; manages financial aspects of the IT division including purchasing, budget prep/review, and develops business case justifications and cost/benefit analyses for IT spending and initiatives; works closely with decision-makers in other departments to identify, recommend, develop, implement, project and/or vendor manage and support cost-effective technology solutions for all aspects of the City operations.
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, computer science or related field, and nine (9) years of related work experience to include five (5) years of experience managing an IT operation or an equivalent combination of education and experience that would give the incumbent the required knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the functions of the job. Valid Washington State drivers’ license upon hire date.
Master’s degree in business administration or related field; CISA and CGEIT certifications; proven experience in IT infrastructure planning and development; thorough understanding of project management methods, tools, and principles for managing, scheduling, developing, and coordinating projects, including monitoring costs, work and performance, with a strong understanding of human resource management principles, practices, and procedures; excellent written and verbal communications skills with an ability to effectively work with a diverse group of customers, both internal and external.
