Here is my response on LinkedIn. While I think it is great to add another policy to help disadvantaged businesses, there needs to be more education – and PSA to let the public know of federal programs like SCORE & PTACs that are great places to get a B2G education. http://linkd.in/gzfCBd

    Hi Steve –

The new 8m program seems to be a set-aside (only for women-owned businesses) yet still based on NAICS codes, revenues, etc. I have not read all of the language around this – but was suppose to go into effect on FEB 4, 2011. There are plenty of consultants & firms that have opinions and further insight on the program and the requirements if you Google “8m SBA”. Sorry I cannot be of more help.
