I organize a meeting about new media in public communications and citizen activity in the format of barcamp in Rivne (Ukraine) on May 11(12) 2012.
Currently we are looking for speakers, partners and sponsors for this event. It is going to be the first barcamp in Ukraine focused on democracy 2.0.
The main purpose of Publicamp is to gather representatives of local and regional authorities, NGOs, businesses and IT companies to discuss innovative solutions and expertise to improve public communications in Ukraine.
We expect to hear both scientific thoughts on the prospects of e-government and social media and discuss practical tips on how to use new means of communication for the development of local self-government and community, democracy, freedom, education and access to information.
The objectives of our events are:
1) Identify current trends in new technologies and their possibilities for management and community development;
2) Develop a community that is interested in developing new technologies in public administration and public communications
3) exchange ideas and discuss best practices in the use of new media for public communication
4) Create projects and work with open governmental data
The format of the event is barcamp where any member can propose a theme for discussion and to present your own project. If you have an interesting topic for presentation, please, contact organizers [email protected]
Publicamp is part of master course “European public communication” funded by EU Jean Monnet Program that is taught in Rivne Institute of Slavonic studies.
If you and your colleagues are interested to present your vision of new media for public communications, please let me know.
Regards, Anton Shynkaruk
