These career-related events are usually based in the Washington, D.C. area and provide job seekers with active security clearances the opportunity to meet directly with cleared facilities employers for a variety of open positions in numerous fields of expertise including engineering, project management, technical leads and more.
Cleared Job Fairs are different from other career events in the industry because of the focused clientele and superior customer services available to both employers and cleared job seekers. Unlike other security cleared job fairs in the area, ClearedJobs.Net takes great care in validating employers exhibiting at Cleared Job Fairs as Cleared Facilities Employers — employers holding a facilities clearance. Exhibitors who cannot be validated as Cleared Facilities Employers are not permitted to exhibit.
Many of the employers exhibiting at the Cleared Job Fairs are the “who’s who” in the defense and intelligence community; companies such as Northrop Grumman, General Dynamics IT, L-3 Communications, Raytheon, Lockheed Martin and AT&T Government Services are employers who continually renew their annual agreements to participate as exhibitors at many of the shows throughout the year.
Cleared Job Fairs are not only for larger companies — smaller to medium-sized companies making a difference in the security cleared space, such as Varen Technologies, Everest Technology Solutions, ProObject, and Invertix, frequently exhibit and are always welcome.
“It is important to us to have a good mix of small-to-large sized cleared facilities employers at our events,” says Kathleen Smith, Chief Marketing Officer for ClearedJobs.Net. “Each company has something unique to offer a job seeker. And each security cleared professional’s career path will include time working at both small and large companies. We also know that a one-size-fits-all doesn’t work for most cleared professionals and that everyone is looking for the right company to meets their needs.”
Smith believes the Cleared Job Fair experience must be enjoyable for both the employers and the job seekers. “We pull out all the stops,” says Smith. “Every detail is examined and given our utmost attention.”
Noteworthy details pertaining to cleared job seekers include:
• Job Seeker Handbooks include a full page description of each company attending and the open positions they seek to fill
• Free job seeker seminars which review current career strategies, tips and guidance
• Customer Service Staff on-site to assist with a speedy on-site registration and to answer questions.
• Job seekers are also provided resources ahead of the Cleared Job Fair to assist with them preparation for the event such as the Job Seeker Handbook available online, videos and articles.
Cleared job seekers are also given the opportunity to vote for the “Best Recruiters” throughout the year; their votes are compiled at the end of each year. The winning “Best Recruiters” are celebrated at the Best Recruiters event where each nominated recruiting professional is recognized for excellence. “At every turn,” says Smith, “we strive to make employers and job seekers alike feel welcome, appreciated and that participating at our events is a worthwhile, productive and meaningful use of their time. Everyone wins.”
