I like this suggestion. I had never really considered blocking off the morning hours when I’m feeling my most energized and productive for the important meetings, projects, etc. Great idea! Around 2:00, I start winding down energy-wise. Sounds like there are quite a few of us morning people around (smile).

How do you achieve balance in your life? One part is probably claiming the morning for the most important things, as Lauren Modeen suggests in this conversation starter:

Great comment John! Sounds as if you know how to achieve a healthy-work life balance. There usually aren’t too many problems that can’t be turned off at the end of the day. Who knows, if you wait 10 minutes, maybe they won’t be problems anymore (smile).

Recently, I’ve put in place the 10-minute rule. I don’t take any action for at least 10 minutes. That’s really hard for me as I’m an impulsive, “do it now” kind of person.
