My organization would like to know if any govlop members have devised a strategy to gather daily information on organizational and departmental absence rates should the H1N1 begin to sicken large portions of their workforce. For example, will your organization have people call into a central location to report the rate for their area? Is your organization planning to deploy a daily survey to gather the data?
Any information you would be willing to share would be appreciated. Thanks.

During the onset (starting May 1, 2009), we asked state agencies (in Nebraska) to centrally report absences in our HRIS system. The mandatory reporting lasted a few weeks. However, at this time we are no longer requiring this, nor do we plan to unless the situation drastically changes.
Was this done on a daily basis and if so, what HRIS system are you using? Let me know. Thanks.
