I’m looking to formally establish and staff a small unit within my state agency’s HR office that would have responsibility for strategic human resource issues such as workforce planning, employee engagement, performance management, human capital planning, and special studies.
Does anyone have functional statements and position task statements for this or similar work, that you would be willing to share?
Hi Gary: Although I don’t have the specific functional statements and position task statements etc. that you are looking for I can point you to a possible source. What you have described sounds similar to what the Ontario Public Service has implemented over the past few years. We have an organization called HROntario that provides strategic HR advice etc. to senior leaders in all the areas that you mentioned plus a few more. I don’t have the information you are requesting but you might be able to contact someone at HROntario to get it. Here is the URL that will provide you with contact information and phone numbers:
Also, here is the HROntario Strategic HR Plan which is available on the Corporate Leadership Council website. Hope this helps. Linda
Thanks for the strategic HR plan, Linda. I also looked through the people directory at the URL you sent me, and sent an e-mail to a contact listed there, but received no response. Can you recommend a particular person that I contact? I can also be reached at [email protected].
