Google Wave is Google's new collaboration and communications software that combines aspects of e-mail, instant messaging, document sharing, blogging, and wikis in a single application. A 'wave' is equal parts conversation and document, where people can communicate and work together with richly formatted text, photos, videos, maps and more. Google Wave will have a mobile presence.
· Google Wave application is the Web application people will use to access and edit waves. It's based on HTML 5 and built using the Google Web Toolkit.
· Google Wave is a platform with a rich set of open APIs that developers can use to embed Wave in other Web services and build extensions that work inside of waves
· Google Wave protocol is the underlying format for storing and sharing waves; Google intends to make the Wave code open source to encourage adoption of the protocol
