Voting is privilege of living in this country which is sometimes confusing and in the eyes of many American’s, a complicated event and sometimes even a hassle.

Luckily for us, there’s now a helpful solution! Just read that Pew and Microsoft are partnering to help provide accurate election day information to voters in the form of the Voting Information Project (VIP). With people taking to the internet to find the information they need about where to vote or how to access an absentee ballot, the VIP system has the ability to drastically impact the way information is found.

Using Microsoft’s Azure System, VIP provides ore information to a larger audience through a greater variety of applications and tools as well as improved interfaces. With better information at their fingertips, millions of voters will have an easier time finding the answers they need to cast a vote on Election Day.

VIP data has been used in previous elections, and according to Microsoft, was viewed more than 10 million times in the run-up to the 2010 elections and was featured on major media outlets including CNN, NPR and The Wall Street Journal. It is expected for there to be a widespread, and hopefully a national adoption of VIP in time for the 2012 election.
