A smart person once said "never share a password."
As we start to manage more and more Cloud Solutions or SaaS we have started to noticed that account management and password management starts to become harder and hard to keep track of and to manage on the IT level verse the Business Unit level. And I have been to more then one meeting where people have said "just share the password" and not on our physical network not IT's problem.
The Business Unit mission is well what ever it is. For the city one business unit is the police, they use facebook to promote public safety. Information Tech(IT) mission is most often data security and reliability.
How does or more what is IT's role password recover, data management and things like locking out ex-employees?
In general or the first battle I have found is it IT's duty to do those things.
if it is how do we deal with:
Many people to one social network log-on like twitter where only one password is available but several people must b able to post. (in General this is true although solutions like HootSuite exist.)
Many people which can be assigned to a group that can post to a social network. An example of this would be Blogger where multiple people can edit the same blogs as authors or managers.
Employee life cycle and social media?
Auditing the what where who when and why of the many SaaS.
