The best presentation on Social Media Measurement I’ve seen: http://www.slideshare.net/USNavySocialMedia/science-of-social-media

Thanks Jack for sharing this great resource. I especially liked the “if you collect this then you can do this” segment. Very well stated.

Nice resource Jack. Thanks for putting this out. Almost exactly what I was looking for this week.
Our wings are sending in their web 2.0 plans and in a total surprise actually viewing it as part of the overall communication environment. Some are even doing there own research to develop their strategy.
Some dreams will be dashed once I share some info on conversation reach and audience engagement, engagement ratio, etc. But I think this slide show will help them get it. Trying to get them to look deeper nto their number of fans, but for some that is all their boss cares about. -

If a government agency or company really wants to put their money where their mouth is there are great products that they can use that will scrape the entire web and come back with the information that you need. You will still need a human interaction but it’s much better then a manual process. It’s called Social Media Monitoring/Brand Software. Think Cymfony, Nielsen Buzzmetrics, Radian6 etc…I don’t prefer one over the other and we don’t use one where I work but I have stated that we should use one. You can go ala carte or some other way. Don’t shortchange yourself. Most large organizations are using one of these products because they want to know what people are saying about their brands and they want to protect their brand image. Here is a great site for you: http://www.socialmediabiz.com/resource/social-media-monitoring-revi… For free I monitored a campaign using Social Mention and monnitter. Think about your agency as your brand.
Peace
Jenn

Thanks, great link. I love the solution for integrating forms/google docs. Don’t get solutions very often in presentations…just a lot of lip service.

Excellent presentation. Well thought out. This is the type of presentation I’d love to see the version 2.0 and 3.0 of over time. The vendor landscape changes so quickly. Presentations can be devoted entirely to the software solutions for social media measurement. Right now I’m liking Sysomos and little knowns JamiQ and Sumbaa. http://www.facebook.com/socialmediamonitor
What’s your top three?
