a way to use Twitter and Email
TwitterMail provides you with a simple way to post to Twitter via email. Basically, it gives you a free a Twitter specific email and when you send something to that address it will automatically show up on your Twitter profile as an update. This is exactly what you need if you can’t accesss Twitter directly (ex. when at work).
Thanks for the pointer.
Another somewhat Web 2.0 meets Web 1.0 resource is gettting your Twitter status as an RSS feed.
Just substitute a Twitter username for USERNAME above. (Example of my Twitter is http://twitter.com/statuses/user_timeline/jabolins.rss )
This is especially useful if you want to follow updates from, say, the CDC or other agency. More info of Twitter API methods at http://apiwiki.twitter.com/
If your workplace blocks Twitter.com or may react adversely to hits on it, the Twitter API methods won’t work. But the RSS to track work related tweets might be a starting point to “sell” Web 2.0 as a legitimate and useful work tool.
