Look, at the end of the day GovDelivery/Govloop will have to come up with the monetization model. Generally speaking there are three options, 1) charge subscription, 2) advertisement or 3) add additional subscribers for GovDelivery’s services. Then, there is a possibility that GovDelivery saw GovLoop as a potential competitor and decided to buy Steve out before he can do any damage. I realize this assessment may be a bit harsh, but I don’t see any other business case that would justify the acquisition. I should add that I don’t see anything wrong with the merger and that Steve did the right thing. Go Steve!
