Lets bring in a cake for the event. You can’t have a birthday party without one. Also, party favors are a nice touch. I do like the idea of streaming both events live. Maybe we can create a short video of the event and post it here, FB, Youtube, etc. Nice way to market Govloop and its members.

Since its been referenced so many times here I picked up What Would Google Do? I totally agree that for anyone who is interested in Web 2.0 this is great book to start off with. I’m also reading Beat the Reaper by Josh Bazell. My wife read this book and passed it onto me about two weeks ago. I normally don’t read two books at once but they are so different that I don’t have a problem keeping them seperated. BTW Steve, my wife read the Twilight series in about 2 weeks and wanted me to read them as well.

I believe NIH has a central office for IT called CIT. I think it stands for Center for Information Technology. Also, I think each of the institutes have their own IT divisions as well. I assume they report up to CIT. The CIT offers services not only to programs within NIH but other federal agencies as well. I know that they offer hosting services as well as healthcare IT contracting services through NITAAC. I hope this helps. BTW, have you considered the Public Health Corps as career option. We have several PHS officers who work in IT, myself included. Unfortunately I don’t know any PHS officers working at the CIT right now or I would have connected you with them.

Excellent reference. Thank you for taking the time to compile this list. It definitely saves me a lot of time from having to Google this topic. Again, thanks for all the hard work.

thank you for this link. I’m trying to lead an initiative to apply Web 2.0 to the PHS Corps and was wondering if any other federal agencies have actually implemented anything yet. I will definitely reference this information when I come time to brief the Corps senior leadership.
