That’s exactly right Michael. Personal communication is key. I’m much more likely to pay attention to something if my manager tells me it’s important. Mass emails, posters, newsletters are good for engaging staff and keeping them up-to-date on nice to know stuff–things that help foster a sense of community–but for business critical info, personal comms is far better. It has a bigger impact and fosters two-way dialogue.
