City Sets Personal Email Policy For Employees
August 19, 2011 5:30 am by: Matt Largey
The City of Austin is adopting new rules for keeping records of employee communications.
The city has been under scrutiny for months over its compliance with open meetings and open records laws. The council has moved to change its policies for meeting one-on-one with each other.
They have also created new rules for making sure city business they do on their personal email accounts is made available to the public. Now the city is implementing a similar policy for all its other employees.
KUT’s Matt Largey speaks with Ken Martin, who edits the non-profit investigative news website, theAustin Bulldog.
You can read Martin’s complete story on the email policy here.
