Let’s say that I am a Federal CIO and need to respond to a request for information on the architecture of a human resource management system. I want to demonstrate that the system is capable of supporting multiple customers (multi-tenancy), can scale to thousands of users, includes modules A, B, C, D, etc., is interfaced to systems X, Y, Z. How…[Read more]

By now, you’re familiar with the new federal open data strategy. Agencies are running around in circles deciding which sets of data they’ll open up to the public via API’s and content delivery platforms. This begs the question: how are they making these decisions? I suspect there isn’t an overly rigorous methodology, so I’d like your help in…[Read more]

Now this may come as a surprise to some of you govies out there, but at the end of the day, the majority of contractors want to deliver you a solution that can be executed to the benefit of all. The practice of pursuing and winning federal contracts is called capture management. In a lot of ways, a successful capture effort comes down to good…[Read more]

I really like that approach of relying on visuals to give the presentation, but delivering text read-aheads if needed.

Chris Cairns replied to the topic What If Government Could Innovate Without the Risk? in the forum Program and Project Management 8 years, 6 months ago

Nothing can be done without some risk. However, the government’s risk exposure can be greatly reduced. This is just a risk response strategy called TRANSFER. Before I can say that I’m all for non-profits doing this type of work, I’d really like to understand the economics of it all.
