NPI’s Achievement of Excellence in Procurement (AEP) Award gives points for the following certifications:
Certified Purchasing Manager (C.P.M.)
Certified Professional Contracts Manager (CPCM)
Certified Public Purchasing Officer (CPPO)
Accredited Purchasing Practitioner (A.P.P.)
Certified Public Purchasing Buyer (CPPB)
Certified Professional Purchaser (CPP)
Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM)
The CPPO and CPPB are offered through the Universal Public Purchasing Certification Council (UPPCC) and test for a mastery of knowledge in public procurement.
The Institute for Supply Management (ISM) is the certifying organization for the C.P.M., A.P.P., and CPSM. ISM no longer tests for new C.P.M.s or A.P.P.s. The CPSM tests knowledge of supply management in mainly the private sector but also in government.
All of these certifications require rigorous testing and are widely recognized among procurement professionals.
Hope this helps!
