Questions for The Group “Federal Recruiters”
— Is there actually a “community of recruiters” in federal HR?
— Is is common in agencies to find that recruiting is a primary role or is it an”Other Duties as Assigned” second-level or lower task?
— If there is a critical mass of primary role “recruiters,” where do they congregate and interact?
— If it doesn’t exist, do you believe that it would be beneficial to have a “town square” for recruiters, a place to assemble and share information?
There is actually reason behind these questions as OPM has made a significant investment in creating that “town square” in a new capability that will be attached to USAJOBS and launched in the near future.
In the interim, the OPM USAJOBS team will be using a Gov Loop Group to communicate and exchange information with “recruiters” and others about the MANY MANY changes (additions AND deletions) coming with USAJOBS 3.0 in October 2011.
