Eric Koch started the topic How the State of Indiana Identified Several Inefficiencies and Saved Over $3 million per year in the forum MuniGov 2.0 7 years ago
I realize that these tactics by the State of Indiana don’t involve web 2.0 to drive efficiencies. However, this article, which is being shared across multiple web 2.0 channels, is catching a lot of interest with state and local governments.
In this article, our client, Pitney Bowes Management Services, overviews how the State of Indiana saved over $3 million per year with the initiation of a program launched by Indiana Governor Mitch Daniels entitled Operating New Efficiency – or OneIndiana for short.
The free download in the article highlights several inefficiencies in which “multiple agencies had their own independent services, and as each agency grew, they established and maintained their own mailrooms, courier services, copy center, printing vendors and document management systems.” Ultimately, this was causing the state to lose out on economies of scale.
I’d love to hear your feedback and see if this is something that can save money in your State.
