We can talk further, but my view on surveying customers is basic. I look to see if the survey is part of a performance measurement program (see my other blogs). If it is, my client usually select a random percentage of recent customer (say 10-15%). You want enough responses, so I look for 20-30 responses per service area minimum. A online response rate might typically be 20-25%. So do the math. Those type surveys are done every 6 months or so to see the trend. Additionally, if the survey is “stand-alone” then I try to understand the purpose of the survey and the priority feedbacks you are looking for. Sometimes, the feedback you need is a select portion of your customer group (population). There are a bunch of variable to think about.
