I am a recent graduate from Oxford, passionate about public service and trying (again and again and again) to get my foot in the door in starting a career in the federal government. Like many other recent graduates, I have spent a lot of time using USAJobs but only to consistently get a response that I haven’t been referred to a hiring official. I’ve tried to use any avenue possible like Presidential Management Fellows, Pathways, etc
What do you think is the best strategy for recent graduates – is it a matter of ‘knowing someone’ or figuring out how to properly sell yourself on USAJobs or both? Any advice, suggestions, tips would be greatly appreciated! I feel quite lost in understanding what I’ve been doing wrong for the 8 months, and would sincerely appreciate someone helping in the right direction. Thank you!
