I guess we must learn that the founding documents (The Mayflower Compact, Dec of Independence, the US Constitution) should be considered obsolete if they refer to Christianity or any other faith for that matter. At least, that is what many of the respondees on here feel.
*The Pledge of Allegiance (under God) – written by a Baptist Minister
*The Ten Commandments on the wall of the Supreme Court – Who hung those?
*Our Money (In God We Trust)
*the Cross (All of them in Arlington Cemetary that honor our troops)
*The Bible – being the best selling book in the world, followed by the Qu’ran
Congressional sessions open with the swearing of the Pledge, as do government meetings at local levels, meetings held by the Knights of Columbus, Royal Rangers, Boy Scouts of America, Girl Scouts of the USA, Fraternal Order of Eagles, Freemasons, Toastmasters International and their concordant bodies, other organizations, and many sporting events.
Go tell our men and women who have fought and died to protect their Pledge, founding document, and YOU; to get God out of their daily “work” lives. See what happens… I am also a veteran during Desert Storm. Even our military teaches God and Country. hmmmm what do they know that you don’t?
Organized religion the founders were opposed to controlling the government (Church of England), but no where was God not wanted in all aspecs of life. Men of “religion” are bad; Men of “God” are great.
