As someone who does pay into Social Security, I hope none of us get this tax break. Social Security is currently funded well into the future, but cutting 2% now messes up those calculations. Also, when this cut expires, it will be opposed as a tax increase and Social Security funding will be messed up permanently. I live without a Social Security tax cut now. Having no Social Security, which does factor into my current retirement system, will be a terrible hardship in the future. I say let everybody get the money somewhere else and leave Social Security taxes alone, or better yet, tax people who can afford it and use the money to offset the deficit. The rich do not need a tax cut and neither does my Social Security.
