Thanks!! I will graduate with my Masters in Public Administration in December. My current GPA is what your undergrad GPA was: 3.67. Would I possibly qualify to start out better than a GS-7 because I will have both a high GPA and a masters?
How long was the job process- between application, interview, hire, and first day on the job?
What is the most difficult part of your job? I know I wouldn’t like having to call claimants with suicidal ideation into the office to advise them of their denial. Side note, people in the field offices here are stunned when they find out the level of difficulty my job involves- the actual medical disability determination side.
SSA pay is certainly more than I’m making as a state of Florida employee. And the thing is, my job is federally funded, yet in the interest of “fairness,” we are treated no differently than other state employees: crappy pay (about $32,500), no raises, and all. I don’t know how the state expects to attract and retain quality employees at that rate.
