AABPA’s Spring Symposium is less than two days away! The afternoon session “Taking Your Career To the Next Level” will provide attendees the opportunity to participate in two tables on the discuss topics listed below. Section leaders will provide their unique perspectives of working within their organizations and helpful takeaways to assist in your career trajectory.

Section 1: Communicating and Working with OMB
Interested in learning more about OMB and tips on working with those who work there? This section will cover the “typical” day at OMB and provide tips on how to enhance your communication with OMB.

Section 2: Working through Continuing Resolutions
Looking for tips on how to survive a CR or interested in how other organizations approach CRs? This section will provide examples of how to operate during a CR and will provide a forum for discussing lessons learned from the most recent CR.

Section 3: Making of an SES
Attention all mid-career professionals – wondering how to make the next big leap into an SES position? This section is the place to hear tips on how to prepare and position yourself in the next few years to move to this next level.

Section 4: Communicating and Working with GAO
Interested in learning more about GAO, including information on the GAO report process? This section will cover the “typical” day at GAO and more on Congress’ investigative arm.

Section 5: Making of a Budget Director/CFO
What does it take to become a Budget Director or CFO? What skills are inherent and what can be developed? This section will discuss these and other topics on how to wear “multiple hats” in these positions.

Section 6: Working in Private vs. Public Sector
