Here’s what I came up with using the USAJobs resume builder and Paul’s advice. I think this does a much better job highlighting my accomplishments, though I am definitely open to suggestions for improving the visual style for non-federal positions.

Awesome! When USAJobs cooperates, I’m working on it. 🙂 I’m taking Paul’s suggestions to heart and I can already see the difference.

Thanks for all the suggestions, Paul.
I am open to both federal and non-federal positions. I will be applying for the Astronaut Corps when applications open up in November, so I need to go update my USAJobs resume anyways. =)
The resume I posted is really an adaptation of what I first built in college and have added on since then. It’s really…[Read more] -

Why do you want your resume reviewed?
I work in the civil space program and there is a lot of uncertainty in our business. I want to be certain that I am putting my best face forward in the event that I have to look for work or I come across an opportunity that I don’t want to miss. I am also in a situation where I expect most of my current…[Read more] -

We use it internally at NASA in much the same fashion. It’s a deliberately “flat” setup with a “do no harm” governing philosophy.

Because NASA and CASIS are still negotiating the agreement, I haven’t actually been introduced to the people in the new organization. I don’t know their intentions regarding social media… or even their names, for that matter.
At this point, I’m primarily trying to figure out what a healthy division of role and responsibilities should be.…[Read more]

1. We use social media to directly connect the public with the work that is being done on the International Space Station. Twitter allows us to have two-way conversations, while a blog dedicated to science on the ISS allows us to push more robust content out. I was also one of the presenters at the STS-135 Tweetup.
2. I volunteered to lead the…[Read more] -

That’s precisely how we’ve approached things so far. We’ve got about 7500 followers for @ISS_NatLab at this point and helped out at the Tweetup for the last Shuttle launch. One of my favorite stories from our social media presence is the time I went and confirmed with NORAD that Santa Claus would be visiting the ISS for a little girl in the UK.…[Read more]

I could use some help from the GovLoop crowd. In my day job, I am a strategic relationships manager for the International Space Station National Laboratory Office at Johnson Space Center. I facilitate the research planning and program integration for commercial payloads and educational projects for the ISS.
I’m also an active blogger and social…[Read more] -

My wife was on the ride-out team at Ben Taub and Pearland was not under evac order, so I sheltered in place with the dog and the cat at home. The power went out around midnight and didn’t come back on for 12 days.
