My Introduction: I went through the Defense Information School for basic broadcasting in 1997 and have been working in some capacity of Army Public Affairs since. Army Broadcasting Services sent me to Honduras to work at AFN Honduras twice where I learned non-linear editing on the first Avid machine ever made (Just kidding). I also spent a year in Turkey working at Det. 7 Armed Forces, in Incirlik Turkey helping produce the evening news. After 10 years in the regular Army, I joined the Arizona Guard and deployed twice, serving the first time in Atlanta as a video editor for the Defense Video Imagery distribution System (DVIDS) and then as broadcast operations chief in Ballad, Iraq, where I learned a little about Adobe premier. Currently, I work for the Indiana National Guard producing video and help coordinate our social media efforts. It’s been a year since I started using Final Cut pro on a Macbook and I currently shoot with a Panasonic HVX 200. After all these years, I still have no animation or even basic photo shop skills. If anyone knows some good(cheap) After Affects and Photo Shop training, let me know.
