Went onto the WMO site and there is a lot of info there, including the last 10 years of CO2 pushed into the atmosphere by each country in the world. Does not get down to cities, but WMO may be able to.
The numbers are KG of CO2 per dollar of GDP, per annum.

We do need to think more about sustainability (across the board).
I like the simple definition provided in1987 Brundtland Commission of the United Nations – “sustainable development is development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.”
