How are you marketing yourself? Rather than relying on others to promote you and provide opportunities, why not be proactive and carve out opportunities for yourself?!
In today’s economic environment and culture, it is pretty overwhelming when you start thinking about a stable career, a future, or even where your job experiences may take you! With that being said, it is best to tackle this topic in a calculated and systematic way. I personally have to report my daily activities to my supervisor, and as fate would have it, I use these inputs to track what I am doing in my career. My goal is that at some point I will incorporate these bullets into my resume somehow, and use them to advance in my career field. In addition to that, I market myself in a variety of ways: I update my social media pages with content relevant to my job. I surround myself with other working professionals in multiple fields. And I make sure I treat all of my contacts as if they were customers. All of these practices amount to my best effort at effectively marketing myself for something greater than I currently have. No one wants to be in the same place five years from now, so how are you marketing yourselves? Do you have any tips for young professionals/leaders to achieve success in professionally marketing themselves for either a better position in their current workplace or in a new one?
