In many respects, I agree with you Scott. Working hard and staying humble is a sure way to get noticed and gain favor with any levels of leadership. Once inserted into a working environment, I believe this to be the best way forward. In regard to preparing yourself and marketing yourself outside of the working environment, things start to change. When surrounded by swarms of working professionals, all that hard work in the office and humility does not get noticed in the same fashion. I can’t stand bragging either, but it seems to be an art form. I have found myself impressed with people who seemingly never talk highly of themselves, yet I am aware of many great things they have done. I would love to learn how to artfully convey those impressions.
