How do you say “not so great job?”
There is an art to giving and receiving feedback, whether it is positive or negative. It can be tough to hear constructive criticism, as well as criticism that is not so constructive. And it can be tough to give constructive criticism, especially if that person has a hard time accepting feedback.
So what is the solution? How do we say “Great Job!” or “Needs Improvement,” in a way that produces positive outcomes. Because in the end, the art of giving and receiving feedback boils down to knowing who your audience is, not taking anything personally, and understanding that everything is a learning process from which everyone is constantly evolving.
