The Next Generation of Government Training Summit Understands Accountability
US Senator Jeanne Shaheen D-NH has called on the 15 Cabinet Secretaries to perform audits on all expenditures going towards government conferences. This action has come in the wake of the scandal, which has plagued the General Services Administration in their recent conference to Las Vegas. This scandal has caused several two high-level officials be fired, and forced Chief Administrator Martha Johnson to resign.
Government accountability is so important today, and the Next Generation of Government Training Summit is focused on providing essential training to help young leaders do their job beer. Here is four reasons why Next Gen is a productive event:
- The training summit addresses all 28 core competencies established by OPM and focuses sessions around the Executive Core Qualification standards for entry into Senior Executive Service.
- It will take place in Washington DC – there will be no need for hotel and other per diems for government employees who attend.
- The planning board consists of 20+ federal workers from many agencies, who understand the challenges that emerging leadership is facing – hitting upon topics such as generational divide, working across sectors, and how to deal with a reactionary Congress. These are real topics to help rising government stars do the job better.
- Past attendees have lauded the training summit as being the best conference they have been to, eager to implement the solutions and tools that they had gained from their experience at NextGen.
“I loved the parts I attended and left SO inspired with a big list of things I am going to try to do from my role at DHS.” – Stacy Kane, program analyst at the Fedearl Emergency Management Agency
We’ve heard from past attendees that after the NextGen Training they feel rejuvenated, informed, and energized to tackle the bigger challenges at their agency. This is why the Next Generation of Government Training Summit is a sound investment, and why your agency will see the benefit to having a presence there.
“My biggest learning from [NextGen]: Government is in good hands! This event had the highest energy level of any I can recall attending in a long time, both from the speakers and the attendees! The next generation of government truly is a group of passionate, talented, motivated, engaged, ambitions individuals who are looking to make a difference – my thanks!” – Scott Span, President of Tolero Solutions Organizational Development & Change Consulting
