This competition is an amazing experience for anyone who has ever said, “Why don’t we do something better?” Last year I participated and won the first FedPitch. As a young Fed, I am continuously looking for ways to make government service better. FedPitch gave me a venue for making suggestions to improve public service. On a personal level, it was also a growth experience. Like most Americans, I have a terrible fear of public speaking. FedPitch gave me the opportunity to work on overcoming this fear by practicing in a live environment. I met so many amazing people. It was truly memorable. So, if you’ve got an idea on how to improve public service, I would highly recommend participating in FedPitch 2009.
