I agree (and chuckle) at your remarks regarding communicating with Gen Y on their terms. As I’m sure you know, Gen Y uses various social media besides just Facebook. I’ve worked with a few government agencies that do in fact have FB pages, pod casts, blogs etc. yet – they don’t have the trained support to utilize these vehicles to implement targeted marketing and advertising strategies. More than branding the mission, is making it resonate with Gen Y. Sadly many agencies still have a “they will come to us” approach .
