Apple Time Machine is a software product which can do a backup to an external device, such as a NAS, but is not a NAS itself.

I’m curious to find out who here is using a NAS at home and which brand and model you use.

Steve replied to the topic How Long is Too Long in One Position? in the forum Miscellaneous 6 years, 8 months ago
I think passion for what you are doing in that position is also important to consider when asking these questions. If you are not passionate about what you are doing, it’s going to show in your work, it’s doing a disservice for those you work for, and you are not going to feel driven to stretch yourself.

Steve replied to the topic Any Tips on Convincing IT Security? in the forum Technology 7 years, 8 months ago
The way this is phrased, it sounds like they are simply saying “I want to use/try (insert technology here).” Being on the IT side of things myself, I see this a lot. Some suggestions (along with what Henry Brown has already suggested):
- Form a relationship with IT. Here, we have a monthly meeting (or more or less often, depending on the need)…

Steve replied to the topic Buying a DSLR Camera in the forum Gov Photographer 8 years, 2 months ago
Definitely go to a local store and get a hands on feel for each camera to see how it feels in your hands. If any of your friends have a DSLR, you may want to go with the same brand that they have – it will be easier to go to them for help and you could potentially borrow each other’s lenses.

Steve replied to the topic What Kind of Coffee Do You Order? in the forum Miscellaneous 8 years, 3 months ago
I drink tea more often than coffee, but when I go for coffee, it’s Starbuck’s Skinny Cinnamon Dulce Latte. I became addicted to it during a trip to Scotland. 😀
