VOLUNTEER SUMMER INTERN POSITION
WITH THE U.S. ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AGENCY’S
PACIFIC SOUTHWEST OFFICE
U.S. EPA’s Pacific Southwest Office seeks motivated and talented summer interns to work on zero waste, green products, green businesses, green building, and green communities. The Office of Pollution Prevention and Solid Waste works on climate protection to advance state-of-the-art materials management and waste management practices following the reduce-reuse-recycle hierarchy. We work with communities, businesses, Tribes and States to foster healthier buildings and communities, safer products and greener business practices.
Our teams work collaboratively to identify best practices, safer products and alternatives. Current focus areas include: home energy retrofits, sustainable transit, innovative food scrap/organics management, green hotel standards, materials management tools for cities’ climate action planning, Tribal green building, healthier personal care products and green nail salons, and zero waste strategies.
Skills Needed: Strong communication skills. Analytical and research skills. Ability to work effectively in teams. Energy, enthusiasm and dedication.
