John Sporing replied to the topic How Do You Prioritize Your Time as a Leader? in the forum Leadership, Management, Supervision 8 years, 8 months ago
I try to spend my time on what I think is important. I walk around everyday and talk with my people so that I get a feeling of what is going on. By talking with them, I understand what they think is important and I use that to help me plan–whether that means more training, more team building, or changing strategies.
I meet with my senior…[Read more]

@22ym5dyw3a6h9The graphics on my page was one of the themes offered by GovLoop. Not sure if they have changed them, but apparently they are somewhere on the system. If I find again, I will let you know where to find it.

Just started reading “Rich, Rare and Red: A Guide to Port” by Ben Howkins. I will be taking a trip to Portugal later this year and he is providing a very good history of Port which is tied very closely to the history of the country.

I think I am the opposite. I do not think that a $10 burger is ten times better than a $1 Mickey D’s burger. But I think that a $30 Ruth’s Chris steak is more than twice as good a $15 Outback steak. Perhaps that is just the economist in me trying to measure my utils! 😉

John Sporing replied to the topic Got tips or tricks for using PowerPoint to make amazing presentations? in the forum Microsoft Productivity for Government 9 years, 10 months ago

Most of my presentation slides are photos with one or two words. Thus a complete print out of the slides…[Read more]

Here is DC, I like the Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse just North of Dupont Circle. While it is a chain, and the food is great (if pricey), there are two things about this particular location I like:
1) It is in several old row houses that have been converted. The atmosphere is very romantic and old school–not so much brass and shiney things that you…[Read more] - Load More
