Too many of us have internalized good vs. bad, boss vs. employee, me vs. you, etc. Leadership is contributing the best each person has to offer to the betterment of of the whole. One way that employees can shift the dynamics in an office is to offer their best in that spirit. In my experience, those who “shut down” and refuse to offer their best do so not because it might “threaten” their boss rather they are fearing their own success, just the same as the boss. The sad state of so many organizations today is the result of people mirroring each other’s fears and not their greatness. Leaders, in any position, shine the light of potential on every person and then inspire them to live it based on their own actions.
