Just catching up in GovLoop after a prolonged absence!!! Anyone still interested in web talk around communications?
I’ve personally moved into the open data arena and considering starting something there too.
Meantime, I still find web specific communications not getting much better when the civic bent is added. I mean, good web writing and…[Read more]

@1wcvpfbq113hzHi Shan, thanks for joining the Web Communication Folk group. You’re the first to join! I haven’t done any real promo for this yet but hope to scan around for people to invite. @29lr9bgm169amHi, think it’s great Macs are coming into your place even for a test. Hope it sticks.

Our I&T does not support Mac but our design team uses them and has a separate support contract. “Twitter wants to establish itself as a communications standard rather than just a social-media brand” – that’s worth a blog on it’s own.
I found govloop really slow this a.m. too. Is all this akin to a traffic jam on the morning commute? I think it’s something we’re going to have to get used to and I put it out there – what’s the equivalent to…[Read more]

Awesome. It occurs to me others success stories such as this can help get support from managers (where I work) to take the steps to make it go. In other words, if other govs are doing it and survived, well, we can too.

Hey folks, we started an internal social media tool to help bring staff up to speed on using social media. We call it “webbook”. Still in its infancy but, much like trying to lose weight, you hit plateaus that make growth stall up. In particular, involvement from bloggers to keep content fresh and coming. We are hearing “time” is an issue but we…[Read more]
