I imagine July 4th, 1776 was a pretty awesome day for Americans. It must have felt like winning the super bowl, world series, and the lottery all at the same time. In fact, “The 4th” is such an emotional day that the only two that signed the Decleration of Independence and served as President, John Adams and Thomas Jefferson, died on the 50th anniversary, July 4th 1826.
July 4th is still a great day, perhaps the greatest of the year: BBQs, summer weather, fireworks, red, white and blue, parades, parties, flags and the day off from work! Every year I try to listen to Jimi Hendrix play the Star-Spangled Banner at woodstock and enjoy the day by “blowing up a small part of it.”
Americans celebrate in many different ways, what’s unique abour your celebration? Is Independence Day your favorite holiday?
