Correction: they’ve been doing this for five years in a row (ever since the current mayor took office), it’s just that this particular format (buy a feature) was first introduced last year.

At least that’s what I think it is: Expertnet Prototyping Using Quora: Participation Metrics at Week Two
What’s good about this approach:
- Use of a robust tool that’s available right now (helps with quick turn-around)
- Definitely cheaper than building their own custom tool, especially in light of muddy specs
Hope to see more of these experiments in 2012.
