Project Management Survival Guide

Over the years, government has become more and more projectized. It’s undoubtedly a difficult task- working through culture barriers, developing a comprehensive strategy, and overcoming unforeseen (and potentially foreseen) obstacles. Even if you don’t have a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification, it is still important to know the key elements of good project management.

To help you acquire these skills, we are a hosting a free online training: Project Management Survival Guide. Join us on September 13 from 3:30-4:30PM ET as we help you take a concept and move it from idea to implementation to evaluation.

This interactive workshop will teach you how to:

  • Create and secure a project charter
  • Develop an appropriate road map with a clear scope and key stage gates so that you can test assumptions, evaluate results, iterate on success/failure and move forward with a project / product that achieves results
  • Identify scope creep early and squash it
  • Stay on time and within budget and know what to do you if you get off track

Dr. Bill Brantley, certified Project Management Professional, will lead this session offering insights from his experience and answering your questions regarding the challenges you face.

The Project Management Survival Guide is one of five interactive sessions taking place at the Government Innovator’s Online Summit on September 13.

This sounds excellent! I may be in a board meeting at that time, will a recorded version of the presentation be made available afterward to people who register?

I like the sound of this opportunity. Plus it is in my price range. I will offer this as a brown bag event for my project team.
